4th Youth World Cup Live Painting Competition
The 4th Youth World Cup Live Painting Competition is a global charity event hosted in Vancouver, BC, by Canada Youth Arts Development Foundation and in support of UNICEF Canada. It is simultaneously a global painting Olympic of the world’s children and youth and a global charity event aimed to help children around the world who are living in poverty. Over the years, nearly 10,000 participants from 30 countries have made it a successful event.
Since the inaugural Youth World Cup Live Painting Competition in 2012, the Canada Youth Arts Development Foundation and community members have raised more than $45,000 for UNICEF Canada which was used to provide 142 Schools-in- a-Box to communities around the world in need of educational materials. The School-in-a-Box is a critical part of UNICEF’s response in emergencies, used in many back-to-school operations around the world. The kit contains supplies and materials for a teacher and up to 40 students. The purpose of the School-in-a-Box is to ensure that children’s education is continued within 72 hours of the onset of an emergency.
The 4th World Cup Live Painting Competition has attracted entries from more than 35 countries to date. Regional winners from overseas will join the rest of the competitors in Vancouver for the final live competition. Locally, 140 elementary schools, high schools and universities in the Greater Vancouver area have been invited to participate by submitting their art work.
