In Montreal: UNICEF Canada President attending Global Fund Replenishment Conference


TORONTO/MONTREAL, September 14, 2016 – On September 16-17, Prime Minister Trudeau will host the Global Fund Fifth Replenishment Conference in Montréal. With almost 400 participants expected, the event will bring world leaders together with representatives of international organizations, the private sector, nongovernmental organizations and communities affected by HIV, TB and malaria, to mobilize US$13 billion to end the deadly epidemics by 2030.

“It is an ambitious goal, but one that is fully achievable if all Global Fund partners step up to their responsibilities,” said David Morley, UNICEF Canada’s President and CEO, who will be attending the conference. “UNICEF, as an active partner of the Global Fund, is committed to continuing its work to prevent and protect the world’s most vulnerable children from these deadly diseases.”

UNICEF Canada President and CEO David Morley will be attending the Conference, and will be available for commentary on:

  • Canada’s role in ending HIV, TB and malaria
  • The challenges that remain in reaching the most vulnerable
  • Proven cost-effective solutions to saving lives
