Dave Spedding, Chief Operating Officer
Dave Spedding is Chief Operating Officer, UNICEF Canada. He joined UNICEF in 2011, as Acting Chief Development Officer, to spearhead the fundraising activities necessary to provide critical funding for the world’s most vulnerable children.
Throughout his career, Mr. Spedding has led multiple emergency situations fundraising campaigns including the recent and ongoing crisis in the Horn of Africa.
Mr. Spedding plays a fundamental role in helping UNICEF Canada to reach into the hearts and minds of Canadians across the nation.
Prior to joining the UNICEF family, Mr. Spedding led the fundraising activities of Save the Children Canada, Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Toronto, the MS Society of Canada.
Meg French, Chief Program Officer
With over fifteen years experience in international cooperation, Meg leads UNICEF Canada’s policy and advocacy efforts to promote the protection of child rights internationally and leads the organization’s work with the UNICEF country offices on a wide-range of child-focused development programs. Meg also heads UNICEF Canada’s communications and brand work and the promotion of the Children’s Rights and Business Principles with Canadian companies and with the Government of Canada. A former high school teacher who taught in Canada and the Marshall Islands, Meg also worked in the Philippines leading a gender mainstreaming program for a large cooperative in Cebu. Meg has a Bachelor of Arts in International Development and Women’s Studies from Trent University and a Bachelor of Education and Masters of Education from the University of Toronto.
