A father battles airstrikes to give his baby girl the chance to recover and thrive
Looking at her, you'd never know that Lolia*, just thirteen months old, was hit and badly injured by an airstrike in Syria last year. Or that she lost her dear older sister Amal*, who was only seven years old.
You might also miss the hero next to her. Her incredible father risked his life during the airstrikes to rush his girls to the hospital with the hopes of giving them every chance to live.
One of Lolia's arms isn't fully functional, so her father still tries to provide his daughter with surgery.
“Today, I try to only think of Lolia’s future. I want her to grow healthy,” he said. "There is no specialised medical expertise for such surgeries in Modamieh. I will never give up. One day I will take her for proper medical support."
To Lolia and Lolia's dad, we say never give up! We're behind you – and the #childrenofsyria – who are bravely rebuilding thier lives.
