#1 by 2030

As children go, so does our nation.

Currently, Canada ranks 17/29 rich countries on UNICEF’s Index of Child Well-being. That’s why UNICEF Canada has created One Youth and set the bold goal to make Canada #1 on UNICEF’s Index of Child Well-being by 2030.

Together, we can make it to #1.

What is One Youth?

One Youth is a movement of children, young people and adults who want the best possible opportunities for every young person in Canada.

One Youth will make child and youth well-being a priority across the country.

Why we're doing it

Canada ranks 17th out of 29 rich countries on overall child and youth well-being. In fact, we drop seven places to 24th out of 29 rich countries when we asked youth to rate their own life satisfaction. Canada is one of the more unequal societies for children and youth, ranking 26th out of 35 rich countries.

For one of the world’s wealthiest countries, the well-being of our children and youth should be much higher! The One Youth movement is here to fix that.
