UNICEF STATEMENT ON THE EARTHQUAKE IN MOROCCO
9 September 2023 – A 6.9 magnitude earthquake has struck Morocco, in the Atlas Mountains southwest of Marrakech.
UNICEF is following the situation and ready to support the Government of Morocco upon its request and under the coordination of the United Nations, to help reach children who may have been impacted by this disaster. We will be continuing to update as the situation unfolds.
