70 Years of Impact. Powered by Canadians
Since 1955, Canadians have powered UNICEF’s work to provide life-saving aid by generously donating to UNICEF Canada.
For some, it was collecting pennies and dimes in an orange UNICEF box on Halloween. Others joined their local UNICEF Club to raise awareness in high schools or on university campuses.
Today, more than 80,000 Canadians donate through monthly giving programs or as part of a humanitarian response to emergencies and conflicts.
Regardless, one thing is clear: Canadians, time and again, have stepped up to make a generational impact for every child over the last 70 years.
Securing futures that are now shaping the country
Canadians have a long history of helping children through UNICEF Canada. In 70 years, you have helped secure millions of children’s futures, many who are now adults who chose Canada as their new home.
They are shaping our country’s fabric today. They are your friends, your neighbours, your co-workers, your favourite small business owners.
To mark 70 years of impact, we've captured just a handful of their stories.
They include the experiences of an executive chef, a former Miss Canada, an elementary school teacher, and a university professor. Their one constant? All of them were supported by UNICEF.
Hear these four stories below and discover how we can continue to make positive change for every child around the world.
Thank you for making their future, and the future of every child, possible.
