The food security situation in Yemen’s districts under the control of the Government of Yemen slightly improved during the first five months of this year, while acute malnutrition increased, compared to the same period in 2022.

On 23 February 2023 in Aden, Yemen, 16-month-old Rowaida Raeed Ali Hasan is fed a sachet of Plumpy ‘Nut ready-to-use therapeutic food (RUTF) by her mother, Gouma’a Mohammed Hasan Abdullah. Rowaida is being treated for severe acute malnutrition in the Therapeutic Feeding Centre at Al Sadaqa Hospital.
