UNICEF is increasingly using sports to support its programs. Sports unites people, children and adults, to promote friendship and fair play. In addition, the right to sports and play is a fundamental right guaranteed by the Convention on the Rights of the Child. Sports are necessary for the physical, mental and social development of children and young people worldwide. This is your chance to help spread the movement!

Run with it: Host or participate in a local run! Whether it be 1k or a full marathon, challenge yourself, other participants, and supporters, to go the extra mile and donate to a good cause!

Fun-A-Thons: Anything with “A-Thon” at the end is usually a blast! Get your community together and host a dance-a-thon, a bike-a-thon, a hula-hoop-a-thon and much more. Whoever can keep going the longest wins! Ask participants to have a time goal and fundraising goal. Make sure to get creative and share your challenges on social media with #UNICEFaThon

Play: Host a team sport tournament and ask all participants to donate a small fee. You can also ask supporters to choose the team they think will win and match the donation if the opposing team wins instead. Keep the competition alive and help fight for child rights!
