1 email = 1 step closer to polio eradication

Polio cases have declined by 99.9% since 1988. Help us reach 100%.

An anonymous donor is making a contribution for UNICEF to procure vaccines for vulnerable children. Show your support to the initiative by signing up with your email address and following the path of a vaccine from manufacturing to delivery (also called the cold chain!). You will also be included in updates for UNICEF news, programs and appeals.

Policy Advocacy for Children

UNICEF is the global children’s agency, mandated by the United Nations General Assembly. We are guided by the Convention on the Rights of the Child as we strive to establish children’s rights as enduring ethical principles and standards for the survival, protection and development of all children.

UNICEF Canada advocates for policies and practices that contribute to the fulfilment of children’s rights in Canada and around the world. We work with policymakers and a range of institutions and organizations in Canada, as we do worldwide, to promote public policy in the best interests of children, informed by international standards and commitments and by the best research evidence.

"The true measure of a nation’s standing is how well it attends to its children – their health and safety, their material security, their education and socialization, and their sense of being loved, valued, and included in the families and societies into which they are born." UNICEF Report Card 7, 2007
