A day for children with disabilities, and for all of us

December 3 is the annual International Day of Persons with Disabilities and aims to promote an understanding of disability issues and mobilize support for the rights, dignity and well-being of persons with disabilities – including children. It also celebrates the benefits for the whole society when persons with disabilities are included in every aspect of life.

Is Canada doing its job to protect children’s rights?

Is Canada fulfilling the rights of its 7 million children? On September 26-27, the Canadian Government will answer questions from the United Nations Committee on the Rights of the Child on how well it’s protecting the rights and well-being of children in Canada.
