Syria received 256,800 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, the first COVAX delivery of vaccines to reach the war-torn country

On 21 April 2021, staff members of UNICEF and WHO togerther with local partners, inspect the first shipment of COVID-19 vaccines for the COVAX Facility in Jdaydet Yabous, a village situated on the border between Syria and Lebanon, in the rural area of Damascus.

COVAX reaches over 100 economies, 42 days after first international delivery

The COVAX Facility has now delivered life-saving vaccines to over 100 economies since making its first international delivery to Ghana on February 24th

Yemen receives 360,000 COVID-19 vaccine doses through the COVAX Facility

Today, Yemen received 360,000 COVID-19 vaccine doses shipped via the COVAX Facility, a partnership between the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations (CEPI), Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, UNICEF and the World Health Organization (WHO).

On 31 March 2021, the first shipment of COVID-19 vaccines for the COVAX Facility arrived at Aden International Airport in Yemen.

Teck Donates $1 Million to UNICEF Canada to Support the ACT-Accelerator and COVAX
