Amidst conflict in Sudan, these humanitarian workers stay and deliver

As we celebrate World Humanitarian Day, UNICEF Canada celebrate six female workers from Sudan making a difference in their communities.

Five humanitarians working for every child

On World Humanitarian Day we celebrate all the humanitarian workers who ensure children around the world are supported, so that they can thrive.

A woman wearing a UNICEF jakcet carries a child in her arms, both the woman and child are laughing. They are outdoors and both are wearing jackets.

Celebrating Women Humanitarians

On World Humanitarian Day, UNICEF celebrates women humanitarians and their undying contributions in making the world a better place. Each year, our humanitarian programmes provide millions of children with a range of lifesaving services, but these services could not be provided without the support of women humanitarians. Let’s honor those women who have tirelessly improved countless lives, showcasing incredible strength along the way.

Canadian champion for children in Côte d'Ivoire

My name is Sophie Chavanel and I am the Chief of Communications for UNICEF in Côte d'Ivoire. What motivates me every day in my work is giving every child a voice, regardless of where they live or come from, and no matter their gender, religion or race.

Children are #NotaTarget

Tens of millions of children caught up in armed conflict must be protected from life-threatening attacks and violence.
